Olive was about the do a computer exam (Olive is 56 and has not done an exam since she was 18). She became agitated, felt palpitations and tightness in her chest along with finding it difficult to breath. Olive's solution was "I'll do the exam next week". Olive's energy was most certainly unbalanced !. She called it suffocating. I asked Olive to rub a spot ("Sore Spot") see the circle on the chest (diagram below) as she repeated 3 times: "Even though I feel I'm really suffocating, I completely accept myself". Olive then tapped gently on each of the red points (diagram below) as she repeated "suffocating". After 1 round she announced that the suffocating feeling had reduced greatly, still some left so we did another round. The suffocation was gone completely. Olive passed the exam with an 98% result.

The statement "Even though I feel XXX, I completely accept myself" is important due to the fact that it accepts personal responsibility for the present situation and also the fact that you are Ok. The true success of the technique depends on how well you define the XXX part of the statement. Let the statement be a true reflection of how you really feel in the moment, for example, saying "I don't feel good" is a very pc way of saying "I really feel like sh??" This technique works better with non PC statements (what you say to yourself when soething happens)
Your imagination does not distinguish between what is real and what is imagined, so if you imagine a situation, your body thinks it is real. (think of a mouse or biting a lemon)
